Play Mahjong Ways at ph7bet — Cascading Wins, Multipliers & Free Spins
Mahjong Ways is PG Soft's breakout hit that's taken Filipino slot players by storm. Familiar tile symbols, explosive cascades, and multipliers that stack up to jaw-dropping payouts. Deposit via GCash, spin instantly. 21+ only.
What Is Mahjong Ways?
Mahjong Ways is a cluster-pays slot developed by PG Soft, a studio known for mobile-first design and Asian-themed games. The game draws its visual identity from the traditional Chinese tile game mahjong — you'll see familiar characters, bamboo, circles, and wind tiles spinning across the reels. But don't let the cultural aesthetic fool you: this is a high-volatility slot built for players chasing big multipliers and free-spin bonuses.
Released in 2020, Mahjong Ways quickly became one of PG Soft's most popular titles in Southeast Asia, including the Philippines. Filipino players — many of whom grew up watching older relatives play mahjong during family gatherings — immediately connected with the theme. Add GCash-friendly platforms like ph7bet to the mix, and you've got a slot that feels both familiar and thrilling.
The game uses a 5-reel, variable-row grid with up to 1,024 ways to win. Winning symbols disappear in a cascade mechanic, allowing new symbols to drop in and potentially create consecutive wins from a single spin. During free spins, multipliers increase progressively with each cascade — meaning the longer your win streak, the higher your payout climbs. It's this mechanic that keeps players spinning, hoping to trigger that one epic cascade sequence that pays 10,000x your bet.
Key Game Mechanics
Mahjong Ways is more complex than your standard 3-reel fruit slot. Understanding these mechanics will help you recognize when a big payout is building.
Winning symbols explode and new ones drop in — multiple wins per spin.
Substitute for any symbol except scatters to complete winning combos.
Land 4+ scatter symbols to trigger 10 free spins with progressive multipliers.
Each cascade during free spins increases the multiplier — no upper limit.
Extra wilds can randomly appear after any non-winning spin.
Pay 100x your bet to skip straight to the free-spin round.
Designed HTML5 — plays perfectly on Android and iOS without an app.
Theoretical maximum payout is 10,000x your total bet.
The Mahjong Ways Series at ph7bet
PG Soft has expanded the Mahjong Ways franchise into multiple sequels, each tweaking the formula slightly. All variants are available at ph7bet — here's how they compare.
The game that started it all. Classic 5x4 grid, 1,024 ways to win, progressive free-spin multipliers. Still the most popular variant among Filipino players at ph7bet.
Bigger grid (5x6), up to 15,625 ways to win. Added multiplier wilds that can appear during base game and free spins. Higher volatility, bigger swings.
Not officially part of the Mahjong Ways series but uses the same cascading mechanics. Chinese zodiac theme, slightly lower volatility — good for longer play sessions.

Mahjong Ways & Filipino Players
Mahjong — the traditional Chinese tile game — has deep roots in Filipino culture, especially in Chinese-Filipino communities across Metro Manila, Binondo, and coastal cities like Cebu. It's a staple at family gatherings, social clubs, and even informal neighborhood games. Older generations play it for hours, mixing strategy with luck and social banter. So when PG Soft released Mahjong Ways — a slot that borrows the tile aesthetic and wraps it in a fast-paced, high-stakes format — Filipino players immediately recognized the visual language.
What makes the slot version different is the speed. Traditional mahjong is slow, deliberate, and social. Mahjong Ways is the opposite: rapid spins, instant cascades, and the constant possibility of triggering a bonus round. For younger Filipino players who grew up watching their lolo or lola play mahjong but never had the patience to learn the rules themselves, this slot offers a shortcut to the cultural experience — without needing to memorize tile combinations or scoring systems.
ph7bet has seen Mahjong Ways consistently rank in the top 3 most-played slots among Filipino users, alongside other PG Soft hits like Fortune Gems and Money Coming. The game's success isn't just about mechanics — it's about cultural resonance. Filipino players trust brands that reflect their own experience, and a mahjong-themed slot hits that mark perfectly. Add GCash deposits, fast payouts, and Filipino-language support into the mix, and you've got a winning formula that keeps players coming back.
